About MUT

Mangosuthu University of Technology was established in Umlazi, one of South Africa's largest townships, to widen access to technical education in the region, and remains a compact, focused institution serving greater Durban.

Its qualifications concentrate on engineering, natural sciences and management, with class sizes and campus scale that keep it more intimate than many of its peers. MUT has built a particular reputation for chemical and civil engineering diplomas that feed directly into KwaZulu-Natal's industrial sector.

Because MUT is smaller and single-campus, students often describe a closer relationship with lecturers and support staff than at larger multi-campus universities — a trade-off for a narrower range of programme choices.

What you'll need to apply
